Stylist Guide

List the Look monetises your links through Skimlinks — one Publisher ID covers thousands of retailers. Use My own affiliate link when you have a direct brand partnership you'd rather keep.

    How Link Monetisation Works

List the Look monetises your product links through Skimlinks, a single integration that covers thousands of retailers — from ASOS and Zara to H&M, Mango, and Net-a-Porter.

When you paste a raw product URL, our engine wraps it with a Skimlinks tracking link so every click from your content can earn you a commission. You only need one ID, not a separate one for each network.

There are two ways a link can be monetised:

    • Standard product URL — we wrap it with Skimlinks automatically.

    • My own affiliate link — the URL you paste is used exactly as-is, never rewritten or wrapped.

What Happens If I Don't Add a Publisher ID?

If you haven't added your own Skimlinks Publisher ID, your links will be monetised using the platform's Publisher ID. Your traffic and links still work perfectly — but the commissions go to the platform rather than to you.

Add your Publisher ID at any time from the Monetisation section in your profile menu to start earning the commission yourself.

    Upgrading or Downgrading Your Plan

The Publisher ID used for a piece is locked in at the moment you list it, and never changes afterwards:

    • Free → Paid: everything you listed while on the free plan keeps using the List the Look Publisher ID. Every piece you list after upgrading uses your own Publisher ID.

    • Paid → Free: everything you listed while on a paid plan keeps using your own Publisher ID, so you keep earning from that back catalogue. Pieces listed after you revert to free use the List the Look Publisher ID.

    • Paid but no Publisher ID entered: pieces are monetised with the List the Look Publisher ID until you add yours — adding it only affects pieces listed from that point onwards.

Pieces marked My own affiliate link are unaffected by all of this: that URL is always used exactly as you entered it, on any plan.

    Earnings Reporting

Paid creators can optionally connect their Skimlinks API key in Monetisation settings to see exact earnings against their subscription cost. Skimlinks pays commissions directly to your account — we stay hands-off on payments.

If you don't connect a key, we show the clicks we tracked ourselves plus an estimated earnings range, and prompt you to connect for exact figures.

    Referral Codes, Discounts & Credits

Every account gets one permanent referral code — it never changes, so you can share the same code as many times as you like and track all of it in Referrals.

    • Your friend saves: anyone signing up on a 12-month plan with your code gets an extra 10% off their first year, on top of the usual yearly saving. Referral codes can't be applied to monthly plans, and can't be used on your own account.

    • You earn credit: you receive 5% of what your friend actually pays as account credit.

    • 14-day cooling-off: your credit is held as Pending for 14 days to cover the statutory cancellation period. If your friend cancels or is refunded in that window, the credit is cancelled. Otherwise it becomes Approved.

    • How credit is used: approved credit is never paid out in cash. It's deducted automatically from your next annual renewal. Credit stacks up to 100% — enough for a completely free year — and any surplus rolls over to the following year.

    • Expiry: approved credit expires 24 months after approval if unused.

Subscriptions renew automatically by default. We email you a renewal reminder before each annual renewal, showing the price you'll pay, any credit being applied, and how to cancel. You can cancel at any time from Billing.

    How Alternatives (Dupes) Are Handled

When another stylist suggests an alternative ("dupe") for one of your pieces, the affiliate link on that alternative is monetised using the platform's Skimlinks ID, not yours. This ensures fair attribution — the original stylist earns from their own pieces, and dupe links support the platform.
